Kanthal A1 round wire is also called Kanthal A-1 or just Kanthal. It is the most common wire used in vaping (e-cigarettes), and is used primarily in industrial furnaces and ceramic kilns where the highest contiuous operating temperatures are required. Kanthal A1 wire is a ferritic iron-chromium-aluminium alloy (FeCrAl alloy) for use at temperatures up to 1400°C (2550°F). The alloy is characterized by high resistivity and very good oxidation resistance.
